Echocardiography
Echocardiography
An echocardiogram uses ultrasound to produce moving images of the heart, showing the chambers, valves, and pumping strength without radiation.
When It Is Typically Used
- Heart Disease Screening — Echo helps evaluate symptoms such as shortness of breath or palpitations.
- High Blood Pressure Treatment — Long-standing hypertension can thicken the heart muscle over time.
- Diabetes Care — Diabetes raises cardiovascular risk, making heart assessment part of ongoing care.
Working Alongside Other On-Site Services
Echo findings are reviewed with EKG results and blood pressure monitoring for a complete cardiac picture.
What to Expect
You lie on your side while a probe is moved across the chest. The study is painless and takes roughly half an hour.
